Organic Vegetables
Our vegetable garden helps to feed us year round. While we have certainly had some challenges along the way, we continually learn and adapt as we go. Our top producers are our Egyptian walking onions, heirloom blue and red potatoes, garlic and Jerusalem artichokes.
We utilise predominantly heirloom seed in our garden and we are uncertified organic, only using natural pesticides where possible. Our animals provide wonderful manure which helps us to produce healthy plants.
Amongst our vegetables we grow lucerne which keeps the earth a little cooler, adds nitrogen to the soil and also helps to feed our goats. They very much enjoy the A-grade organic lucerne which our garden provides.
Alongside our vegetable garden we have a small orchard with apple, peach, pear, apricot, plum, fig and citrus trees. The orchard is also home to our Brahmpington chickens who love to rest underneath the shade below our trees, a scarcity in our harsh environment.
